Who Will Win The 2024/25 Premier League Title?

Like every year, the excitement for the Premier League is palpable this time of year and with the Euros being on for some of the summer, the soccer buzz is at a high. However, it’s been around 15 days since the Euro final and many fans, like myself, are becoming restless. Now as I write this, we have around 18 days until the Premier League starts again and although a lot of clubs are still doing their business, it feels like the perfect time to look at who I think will be in the title race this year and who will come out on top.

Manchester City

The reigning champions four seasons running is a great place to start and not having them on this list would be blasphemy. Looking at Manchester City over the last 7 years, we are witnessing icons in the footballing game be born before our very eyes. With a fantastic squad, a new winger in Savio, joining the club and an already star-studded squad, Manchester City will always be near the top when we look at the English Premier League odds and I cannot see this changing even if their squad weakens.

Now for the general question, counting out City for the title would be foolish and I think them losing the FA Cup to rivals United and having some of their best players exit the Euros early or not perform to their highest level, notably Phil Foden who received a lot of backlash from fans, we could see an incredibly motivated team.

Arsenal

Arsenal are a team that seems to be getting better every year and with their young squad and manager, we could be seeing the birth of the next great Arsenal squad. Having been over 20 years since their last league title and several years since their last bit of silverware, this could seem like a disappointing return considering the money they have spent and the players they have.

However, their squad is one of the youngest in the Premier League and they are slowly coming into their prime playing ages. With this in mind, and the player having two experiences of title races, with both ending in heartbreak, we could see Arsenal overcome their misfortune and win the league.

Liverpool and Manchester United

Both of these clubs are the biggest in England and have long and rich histories spanning decades, but both have had their fair share of unfortunate times recently.

Liverpool

Liverpool has been a better club over the last 7 years, having had a bleak time the decades prior. Jurgen Klopp came into the club and changed it completely. After a nine-year stint in the red side of Liverpool, Klopp announced his resignation and Dutch manager, Arne Slot, was announced as his replacement.

The news of his leaving filled a lot of fans with joy and with their squad ageing and getting weaker, and them now being the only club in the league yet to make a signing. It seems like this year could be an unfortunate one.

Manchester United

Man United having a bad decade is the same as some clubs having their best-ever seasons. Last year, they finished 8th in the league, their lowest-ever finish, and won the FA Cup. This means they have the Europa League next year and there will be a big push for a lot of players they want to sign. Having a whole background refresh, with new owners, coaches and now signing being made, this looks like it could be a season where we see United at their best, much to the dismay of a lot of soccer fans.

Overall, I think when it comes to the title race, we will see it start close and be exciting before the two favourites, City and Arsenal, run away from the pack and I think this year we will see Arsenal break their curse.
